2 dead, 6 hospitalized after car flees Memphis police officers’ attempted traffic stop

Two people were killed, and six were injured Thursday night after an allegedly stolen car sped off from an attempted traffic stop, the Memphis Police Department said.

According to a post on X from the Memphis Police Department, officers responded to a call regarding subjects involved in criminal activity at 5:03 p.m. on Nov. 7. When they arrived to the 6300 block of Global Drive in Southeast Memphis, officers observed the suspect vehicle, described as a black Chrysler 300.

When officers tried to stop the vehicle, the suspects fled the area heading north where the Chrysler struck multiple automobiles in the area of Hickory Hill Road and Knight Arnold Road.

This sent four people to local hospitals in non-critical condition.

2 killed, 1 critical, officer treated

The stolen vehicle crashed into a pole when two occupants where pronounced deceased on the scene and one was transported to Regional One Health in critical condition.

One officer was also transported to ROH in non-critical condition.

Tennessee Highway Patrol was contacted to conduct the investigation.
