2024 Sakharov Prize: interviews with the laureates and finalists | News
Journalists can express their interest in conducting in-person interviews with Venezuelan President-elect Edmundo González Urrutia and Ana Corina Sosa, the daughter and representative of María Corina Machado, leader of Venezuela’s democratic forces, by registering via this EU survey link by Friday 6 December at 18.00 CET at the latest.
Interviews will be conducted in English or Spanish.

Representatives of the other finalists for the 2024 Sakharov Prize will also be in Strasbourg during the award ceremony week and available for interviews:
– Zhala Bayramova, human rights lawyer and activist, daughter and representative of Dr Gubad Ibadoghlu, academic and anti-corruption activist in Azerbaijan;
– Reem Al Hajajra, director of Women of the Sun; Pascale Chen, coordinator of Women, Wage, Peace.
Interpretation in English will be provided.
Please note that making a request does not guarantee you will be granted an interview.
You will receive confirmation if you have secured an interview slot, or not, on Wednesday 11 December at the latest.
Interviews will take place on Monday 16 in the afternoon and Tuesday 17 December in the afternoon.
Media seminar
Journalists can also participate in a hybrid media seminar with this year’s Sakharov Prize laureates and finalists as well as Members of Parliament. The event will take place on Tuesday, 17 December, from 9.00 -11.15.
