343 Industries is hiring a new creative director

343 Industries is in a place of change and has been for a while now. While this is not necessarily a bad thing, many fans hope that the trajectory of the Halo franchise drastically changes in a positive direction. Much of that direction often can be heavily linked to the creative director of a video game studio.

That is exactly the position that has been posted on LinkedIn for 343 Industries. On the LinkedIn post, 343 Industries details what the studio is looking for in their next creative director.

We are looking for a talented Creative Director to help articulate and bring to life our creative vision across the broader studio. Reporting to our Head of Studio, this role will ground our internal and external teams with clear, compelling goals for our gameplay experiences.

The creative director position is an integral part of a development studio and also one of the highest paying positions in the industry. Here’s hoping 343 finds one that will bring the franchise back in a new and exciting way. Many have called for the studio to try a remake of the original games. While other fans have praised the studio for the recent campaign release, that sentiment is not shared by everyone. Fact of the matter is, the franchise could go in many different directions, and 343 likely will not be able to please all fans.

The Halo franchise has seen its fair share of ups and downs during its 23 years. Halo, Halo 2, and Halo 3 were arguably the most dominant years the franchise has seen. The first of the Halo games was revolutionary to the first-person shooter genre. Halo Infinite, the most recent entry, released to high reviews and majority critical praise. However, it quickly hit a downturn when the multiplayer live service element of the game ran out of new content to keep players engaged.

Halo is also what many consider a core pillar franchise for Xbox as a gaming company. It will be interesting to see what comes next for 343 Industries.
