7 Call of Duty Easter Eggs That Prove Modern Warfare and Black Ops are Connected

Call of Duty can be more fun with crossovers in its single-player campaigns. Captain John Price is tasked with infiltrating a facility in Khe Sahn said to be hiding a high-value target. The operation is oversaw by Kate Laswell and will report directly to Russell Adler.

That’s one imaginary story, but who knows something like that may come to fruition? After all, both the acclaimed franchises, Modern Warfare and Black Ops, hold some of the interesting story arcs in the game. And there are Easter eggs that may hint of a link between the two.

7. The Most Obvious Easter Egg Would be Imran Zakhaev

Imran Zakhaev is among the most interesting Call of Duty villains to have appeared throughout the series. Certainly, Captain Price blowing his head off in Pripyat has become an iconic moment in the game.

And let’s face it, when he appeared in the elevator at the KGB headquarters, users were stunned. There was palpable tension as users were waiting on their screens for the gate to open up. Thankfully, he never noticed.

6. Perseus Flag Were Spread All Over the Bunker

The mysterious Perseus wasn’t just all over Adler’s head; it was there in Payload as Price and Farah were infiltrating a base in Urzkistan. There, users come across several of those flags with the Perseus’ flags.

Users saw the antagonist during Call of Duty: Black Ops Cold War, but there’s still debate among the fans if the term actually denotes an individual or an underground network.

5. Burger Town’s Bubby Was There in Call of Duty: Black Ops Cold War

As users assume the role of Private James Ramirez in the mission ‘Wolverines’, Hunter Two-One is tasked with securing a VIP codenamed Raptor. He lies unconscious in a joint called Burger Town.

We see the burger joint appearing again in Cold War during one mission called ‘Redlight, Greenlight’. Woods certainly didn’t have a fun time there during the infiltration.

4. General Shepherd Black Bag Operation

There is a mission called ‘Hindsight’ where users will never be able to find an Easter egg as they are living it. That is indeed correct. The mission is in itself an Easter egg.

It is revealed by Laswell that the mission was a blackbag operation carried out by General Shepherd. However, the mission is a failure. Doesn’t that make it obvious?

3. Nova 6 Barrels in Modern Warfare 2 Raid

How can one forget watching their comrades choking in the deadly chemical weapon during ‘Project Nova’? They are to capture Dr. Friedrich Steiner. However, the victory is short lived as they themselves are captured in a gas chamber.

We come across some of those Nova 6 barrels during the Raid in Modern Warfare 2. That is one core connection between the franchises.

2. Yuri Volkov May be the Son of Anton Volkov

It was due to Yuri Volkov that we lost John ‘Soap’ MacTavish for the first time, Task 141 leader Captain Price almost killed him. But then the curtain is pulled, and Yuri helps him kill Vladimir Makarov, the antagonist of the series.

We see a character appearing in the Treyarch‘s game dubbed Anton Volkov. There is a possibility both might have a relation, maybe Anton is the father.

1. Assassination Attempt on Mason, Hudson, and Weaver

This is perhaps the most impeccable link connecting both the Call of Duty franchises. In the document of the game above, a CIA analyst is suggesting the assassination of Grigori Weaver, Jason Hudson, and Mason Alex.

Users need to take a look at who is being assigned this task. There’s someone called Jonathan who is “inordinately young“. MI-6 and SAS are assuring he is one “veritable prodigy“. Maybe it’s time to say, “Bravo Six, Going Dark“.
