7 Days to Die’s Most Controversial ‘Update’ in the 1.0 Build is Something The Fun Pimps Didn’t Really Need to Fix

The popular Zombie survival-crafting game 7 Days to Die has finally left its decade-long early access period, releasing on both PC and consoles on July 25, 2024. So far, gamers are loving the phenomenal experience by The Fun Pimps and can’t wait to see what the developers have in store for the game.

With the game’s 1.0 release, The Fun Pimps changed many aspects of the legacy game for an elevated game experience. However, it seems like they’ve completely dropped the ball by changing one feature that never needed a change to begin with.

7 Days to Die Gamers Can’t Understand This One Change With 1.0 Update

After several months of waiting and allowing PC gamers to try it experimentally, The Fun Pimps finally debuted version 1.0 of 7 Days to Die. The game brought all kinds of changes regarding the progression system, enemies, weapons, and other aspects.

However, one of the most significant changes introduced with the game’s 1.0 release was the game’s book system. Over on Reddit, gamers are frustrated with this system and can’t comprehend why The Fun Pimps got rid of the old way of acquiring skills in 7 Days to Die.

With the latest 7 Days to Die console and PC version, we have been given Books that can reward us with abilities, recipes, and buffs to help us survive longer in the zombie-infested wasteland.

However, the annoying part is that even with basic things such as cooking your food, you need to find a Book and acquire the skill for it. Earlier, all players needed was the grill part for the campfire, and they could’ve easily acquired the ability to cook their food.

Books can be useful for your survival, but they’re incredibly hard to come by as well. Gamers feel that The Fun Pimps is gatekeeping progression behind this item and forcing players into tedious tasks for the most simple things.

The Fun Pimps Must Listen to Community’s Concerns

In the last couple of days, we’ve seen multiple posts on Reddit gaining traction, discussing how the new Books system is not what players were hoping for, and they prefer the legacy version.

With 7 Days to Die Xbox and PS5 versions now being a reality, it will be much more challenging for developers to revert this feature. It’s a known fact among the veterans of the game that it took The Fun Pimps over a decade to decide on each change.

Sure, going back to the previous build’s system will be a challenging task, but The Fun Pimps must listen to the player’s feedback; otherwise, the game is destined to fail. With the upcoming updates, the developers have promised that they’ll deliver the ultimate zombie-killing experience, but that remains to be seen.

7 Days to Die PS5, Xbox, and PC fans will have to wait and see if the studio finally integrates the player’s complaints and feedback with the upcoming updates.

With that said, do you think Books have ruined 7 Days to Die? If so, let us know in the comments!
