7 Iconic Star Wars Locations That You Should Visit in Star Wars Outlaws
As players traverse through the world of Star Wars Outlaws, in a galaxy far, far away, they will come across some of the most iconic settings from the universe. Massive Entertainment had plenty to choose from for this title, with source material that continues to grow with each week. Some scenery was too good to ignore when telling the story of Star Wars scoundrel, Kay Vess, and these spots are well worth the exploration.
Although there are plenty of new Star Wars Outlaws locations and planets to appreciate, you might want to visit the ones that have set the stage for so many exciting plot lines. This list highlights seven destinations that you will certainly want to see for yourself when playing the game.
7. The Castellan High Republic Ship Crash Site – Toshara
The Castellan crash site found in Toshara is the first notable spot in Star Wars Outlaws because of the deeper lore it represents. While this particular ship has never been referenced in another Star Wars source, it serves as a reminder to the player of the universe’s rich history.
The High Republic era, spanning from 500 BBY to around 100 BBY, was a time of peace and prosperity, where the Jedi Order was at the height of its authority. The Jedi were determined to expand and spread their influence throughout the galaxies, but as Star Wars fans know, the High Republic would eventually fall, leading to the Imperial Era.
Players will not have to search hard to find the wreckage site. The seventh mission in the game, The Wreck, will send Kay there to recover a replacement nav computer. It is one of those Star Wars Outlaws locations that you will want to approach slowly, to appreciate all of the little references.
6. Sabacc Den – Akiva
If you’re ready to take your gambling skills to the world of Star Wars, then look no further than the game of Sabacc. While this high-stakes card game has been referenced numerous times in the franchise’s history, Star Wars Outlaws is the first video game to feature a playable version of it. Interestingly, just six years earlier, Solo: A Star Wars Story (2018) became the first film to depict the game on the silver screen.
Sabacc is going to require a bit of skill, as well as chance, but as gamers get better they can travel around taking on a High Roller from each planet.
That said, while each world has its master Sabacc player, Akiva is the place to go for players who want a truly iconic Star Wars experience. Those playing on this planet will get to test their resolve against the one and only Lando Calrissian, to see who will take all the chips.
5. The Sarlacc Pit – Tatooine
Even those who have never experienced a Star Wars movie, game, comic, or television series could probably tell you that the Sarlacc is an iconic creature.
This massive and carnivorous sand dweller has been seen in several iterations, however, the most famous one is The Great Pit of Carkoon, which served as a favored execution spot for Jabba the Hutt. That same Sarlacc is the one Boba Fett fell into before he eventually killed it from the inside and climbed out.
Those who are excited to see a Sarlacc in Star Wars Outlaws can find its exact location by engaging in The Hotfixer side quest. Not only will the player get to see the outside of the creature, but this mission will take them inside the belly of the beast.
The first time fans were shown the inside of a Sarlacc was in Star Wars: The Force Unleashed, which was released in 2008. Now, 16 years later, players can explore the stomach of the Sarlacc in even greater graphic detail.
4. Mos Eisley – Tatooine
These may not be the droids you’re looking for, but this is certainly the right spaceport town! Mos Eisley is an iconic location in the Star Wars universe, so it is no surprise that it is a priority destination for gamers. It may be a “hive of scum and villainy” according to Obi-Wan, but it’s just the place you’ll want to be in Star Wars Outlaws.
Players will have the chance to walk through the city streets and step inside Chalmun’s Cantina, where Luke Skywalker first met Han and Chewie. Once there, they can grab a drink and ponder the question of who shot first, Han or Greedo, because after nearly five decades that one never gets old.
Mos Eisley has become a hub for interactions with Star Wars greats. The town goes all the way back to the first Star Wars film, and exploring all that it has to offer is a must for devoted fans.
3. Canto Bight – Cantonica
If you’re interested in returning to the idea of gambling, a Star Wars scoundrel would certainly make their way to Canto Bight to try their luck at the casino’s offerings.
Luckily for players, this is one of the Star Wars Outlaws locations that is built into the campaign, and it shows up at the very beginning. However, once you go further into the story you will not be able to return, so make sure you appreciate all the interactions and items before venturing off to the next quest. You might even want to try your odds on Fathier racing before continuing to the next adventure.
Canto Bight and the planet of Cantonica were first featured in the 2017 film, Star Wars: Episode VII – The Last Jedi. While it’s a newer destination, that doesn’t make it any less iconic. It shows off the dichotomy of the planet’s socioeconomic class structure and serves as a fascinating birthplace for Kay Vess.
2. The Lars’ Homestead – Tatooine
Luke Skywalker is easily one of the most iconic protagonists in the history of cinema, and so it is fitting that many would want to visit the place where he grew up acquiring the taste of Bantha milk.
Raised on this moisture farm and parented by Owen and Beru Lars, Skywalker hopped to one day do something greater. Those who want to see it for themselves can find the homestead in Tatooine, and there is even a notepad left by Owen that players can pick up and read.
There’s honestly not much to do while you’re at the Lar’s Homestead, since the interior has already been destroyed by the Galactic Empire, and Owen and Beru are deceased. However, for fans of the franchise, it’s a great spot to grab a screenshot from the outside.
1. Jabba the Hutt’s Palace – Tatooine
Jabba the Hutt plays a significant role in Star Wars Outlaws, which makes his primary base of operations the most iconic location for players to visit. The notorious gangster fans know and love can be found sitting in his throne room, and players have the opportunity to visit him on certain quests.
Hutt’s Palace is where Princess Leia Organa was imprisoned, where Han Solo was displayed in carbonate, and where Boba Felt would eventually establish his headquarters.
Kay Vess and her criminal background make Hutt’s Palace the perfect stop for those looking to fully immerse in the character. It is also a spot where players will want to slowly search to find all of the references and Easter eggs that may be hidden inside and outside of the structure.
