How to Beat Goroth in The First Descendant
The First Descendant has several bosses with unique mechanics. Usually, the boss mechanics from the missions remain the same or have a slightly harder variation. However, when you reach the Fortress and face Goroth, things will get more challenging. Here’s how to beat Goroth in The First Descendant.
Goroth, the Cold-Blooded Vanguard Boss Guide – The First Descendant
The Duty of the Descendant mission is called the Quarantine Zone. Most of the objectives leading up to Goroth are nothing different than the typical missions you have done before.
Once you get to Goroth, he’ll have a whole swarm of enemies consistently reappearing. However, this is also good since you’ll get some HP, MP, and ammo drops.
Goroth, the Cold-Blooded Vanguard, has one extremely dangerous attack. His most dangerous attack is when he starts throwing projectiles that look like enlarged hockey pucks. These projectiles are as big as half the size of your character, so it will be hard to dodge. They also follow a path to the initial target, and it’ll take a while for them to disappear.
Grappling from one place to another should do the trick, but if Goroth also targets you, you must grapple from cover to cover.
Goroth Immunity Phase
After getting used to Goroth’s attacks, you will also see that he has immunity phases when you go through its three full HP bars. Goroth will enter an immunity phase and spawn orbs that float above him.
Like many of the other bosses you have encountered before, you have to destroy them to end the immunity phase. Unlike bosses like the Dreadful Abomination or the Alternate Hand of Nazeistra bosses, you don’t have to destroy the orbs in any particular order.
For Goroth, most of the orbs will also have an immunity shield. These shields activate so frequently that every orb will probably be immune for 90% of the time. During the 10% of the time an orb doesn’t have a shield, you have to unload everything you have on it.
Here’s where it gets a bit tricky. The orbs are immune most of the time, and you’ll mostly see 3 or 4 orbs immune simultaneously. You have to shoot each of the orbs until they crack but don’t destroy them yet. Because if you destroy one orb and fail to destroy the other orbs in half a minute or so, they’ll respawn one by one.
If you lack survivability, upgrade your defensive modules or equip exclusive components with more defenses, HP, or shields.
