Ibrahimovic’s son given professional contract by Milan

Zlatan Ibrahimovic’s son has signed his first professional contract with his father’s former side, AC Milan.

The 17-year-old Maximilian Ibrahimovic will play for the Serie A club’s Under-23 team, Milan Futuro, in the third tier, a spokesperson confirmed on Friday.

Born in Sweden, he has had a diverse training background, having been part of the youth academies at both Paris Saint-Germain and Manchester United due to his father’s stints at those clubs. The striker moved to Milan’s youth ranks in 2022.

The Ibrahimovic legacy at Milan is further cemented by the involvement of Zlatan’s younger son, Vincent, who is also part of the club’s youth setup.

Their father played for Milan from 2010-2012 and from 2020-2023.

The 42-year-old former Sweden forward ended his career last year and has since worked as a consultant for the Rossoneri and owner RedBird Capital Partners.
