The Witcher 3 Gets a New Mechanic That Most Modern Day RPGs Don’t Have  and It Changes the Game Entirely

More than 9 years after its release, fans of this popular CD Projekt Red title continue to invest in and add all sorts of content to the game. Players’ creation of a new mod has enabled this title to incorporate a comprehensive reputation and morality system, a feature never seen before.

Despite the studio’s hard work on The Witcher 4, the third installment of the game features a team of enthusiasts adding one of the most original mods. The idea behind this mod is that each NPC reacts differently according to the protagonist’s behavior.

The Witcher 3 Mods Continue to Amaze

One of the things discarded from the third installment of this game was a reputation system for Geralt within the game’s world. It appeared that if they included this feature, CD Projekt Red wouldn’t have time to finish it.

However, thanks to a fan’s spectacular work, players can now enjoy a complete reputation and morality system that covers the entire map and characters of the third installment of this franchise.

Even though the studio is actively working on The Witcher 4, fans waste no time and continue to enjoy the third installment by adding all sorts of content in the form of mods.

Thanks to this incredible work, all the NPCs in the game will now react to the positive and negative actions Geralt takes. For example, if he kills or commits a crime, his reputation will drop, but if he saves a village and kills a monster, his reputation will rise.

The player’s diligent efforts have resulted in the addition of five reputation levels for the main character. One reputation level is neutral, while the other two are based on the actions the player takes in The Witcher 3.

Obviously, having a negative reputation will affect everything, including how the player buys things or obtains certain items. Now, everything changes depending on whether the reputation is positive or negative.

Respected players can negotiate better deals when purchasing weapons in certain areas. The studio launched REDKit, an official tool, to allow players to customize this title according to their preferences.

The studio discarded content that couldn’t fit into the final version of the title, and many fans of this franchise used this tool to bring it back.

Meanwhile, the company that released the successful Cyberpunk 2077 is working hard on several projects, including the highly anticipated The Witcher 4 and a remake of the first game in the saga.

Everything points to the studio having a promising future despite some mistakes in certain games, as fans continue to trust almost blindly in the quality of games this development team can deliver.
