EU support to Ukraine after two years of Russia’s war

Two years into the Russian war of aggression against Ukraine, Parliament is set to call on the EU to give Ukraine whatever it needs to win the war, such as ammunition, missiles and air-defence systems, and for tougher enforcement of sanctions against Russia, in a resolution to be put to the vote at noon.

Parliament to endorse closer political, economic and trade ties with Chile

From 9.00, plenary will review with Commissioner Reynders the EU-Chile Advanced Framework Agreement on political and trade relations with the EU’s third biggest EU trading partner in Latin America. MEPs are expected to give their green light to the deal at noon.

In brief

Short-term rentals. Parliament is set to adopt at noon a new regulation to create a more transparent and responsible short-term rental sector by establishing clear obligations for hosts and platforms regarding registration procedures, verification and the exchange of data.

Digital wallet. At noon, MEPs will take a final vote on a new Digital Identity Wallet, which will allow citizens to identify and authenticate themselves online without having to resort to commercial providers.

Energy market manipulation. Parliament is set to approve at noon new rules to tackle energy market manipulation by strengthening transparency and safeguarding European households and businesses’ energy bills from potential short-term market price fluctuations.

Votes

Between 12.00 and 14.00, plenary will also vote on:

  • the need to deepen EU integration in view of future enlargement, and
  • the situation in Cuba.
