Xbox’s Deadpool Controller Isn’t Quite What It Seems

A few days ago, Xbox revealed a rather unique collaboration to celebrate the launch of the highly anticipated Marvel movie. This special edition console featured a very particular controller that tied in with the movie’s protagonist and its back design. 

A user showcased the behind-the-scenes of this unique controller in a recent post on X, revealing that the back panel is easily removable and merely a piece of plastic attached with magnets. Many fans were disappointed upon discovering this.

The Collaboration Between Xbox and Deadpool & Wolverine Was Not What Users Expected

Xbox is often quite active in creating limited collaborations that always end up in some kind of contest for a few lucky winners.

In this case, Microsoft collaborated with the anticipated Marvel movie, Deadpool & Wolverine, releasing a limited edition console with a very particular controller that went viral and caught the attention of fans.

This controller is notable for having a back panel similar to that of the movie’s protagonist. In a recent post on X, a user revealed up-close details about this particular controller and the materials used.

To the disappointment of many fans, the controller is conventional, with the only unique feature being the magnetically attached back panel. User reactions were swift.

A Disappointing Deadpool Controller

Some users reacted calmly, noting that it’s much more convenient for this part of the controller to be removable, so the player can use it normally.

However, the user on X also revealed that it is just a superficial plastic cover without any special cushioning material. This Deadpool controller also boasts a limited edition and won’t be available for public purchase.

Despite some criticisms from a portion of the users, the majority are more disappointed that Xbox will not be selling this controller to the public, missing a unique opportunity to sell out instantly.

Given its original concept, practically any movie fan who owns a console or a PC would buy it without hesitation. The anticipated movie is just days away from release, and fans couldn’t be more excited.

Deadpool & Wolverine will officially premiere on July 26th. This film will officially introduce the anti-hero to the MCU, as well as mark the return of one of the most well-known and beloved mutants of all time.

Hugh Jackman will once again bring this character to life, aiming to save the reality to which the distinctive red-talking character belongs. This movie has high expectations and could boost a saturated genre.
