Call of Duty Season 5 launches as Modern Warfare 3 joins Game Pass

Activision has released Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 3 and Warzone Season 5.

Today’s update, which is now available across all platforms, features a variety of new multiplayer, Zombies and battle royale content.

Season 5 introduces WWE Operators including Cody Rhodes, Rhea Ripley and Rey Mysterio, and there’s a new Slam Deathmatch mode in which players land WWE-themed moves to score for their team.

New multiplayer maps include the mid-sized Bait (6v6), which takes place on a dockside on a hot Florida day, and Yard (6v6), a small-sized cel-shaded map set in a desert junkyard.

Three existing maps are also getting new cel-shaded variants in the form of Celship (Shipment), Toonoxide (Rust) and Ink House (Stash House).

Superstore, a popular point of interest from original Warzone map Verdansk, has joined current map Urzikstan too.

Among the new quality of life features, Warzone’s gas mask overlay will now fade in and out depending if the player is in gas or not.

Microsoft recently announced that Black Ops 6 will be the first Call of Duty title to launch on Game Pass on day one, when it’s released on October 25, 2024.
