When is the Stormgate Release Date? – Answered

As someone who grew up playing the real-time strategy genre on my family’s computer in the dining room corner, I cannot wait for the next big genre release. It appears we’re not far off, either. With titles such as Company of Heroes and Command and Conquer falling by the wayside, it’s time for a new kid on the block. So, when is the Stormgate release date?

When Does Stormgate Release?

You don’t have to wait long if you’re a strategy gaming fan! Stormgate launches on July 30, exclusively on Steam.

There’s a caveat to the Stormgate release date, however. While the game is free to play and anyone can download it on release day, those who wish to play on July 30 must purchase an Early Access Pack—essentially a Supporter Pack—that includes access to the game’s preview period, running from July 30 to August 12.

Each pack includes a variety of heroes and campaign missions to help kickstart the real-time strategy adventure. It’s an odd approach and one that likely won’t go over well with the community, unfortunately.

What is Stormgate?

Stormgate is a free-to-play, “next-gen” real-time strategy game set in a world in which science and fantasy collide. As a commander, you’ll order mechanized units to defend the planet or, as an alien faction, invade Earth.

The game features an extensive, evolving single-player campaign, a three-player cooperative mode against AI opponents, and a competitive 1v1 mode for those who want to relive the StarCraft 2 days online!
