7 Deadpool Video Game Appearances You Absolutely Don’t Want to Miss

Deadpool is a character many fans love because of how cheeky, unhinged, and idiosyncratic he is. Hardcore Marvel fans know of the Merc with a Mouth from his first appearance in The New Mutants #98.

Casual fans were acquainted with him when Ryan Reynolds personified the antihero on the silver screen. However, not many people will know that the character has had many video game appearances, here are the top 7.

#7 X-Men Origins: Wolverine

Everyone remembers the disaster that was 2009’s X-Men Origins: Wolverine. The movie starring Hugh Jackman was an absolute disaster for comic book fans. The video game based on it, however, was something that shouldn’t be missed and something that aged like fine wine.

Similar to the movie, Deadpool and Wolverine appear in the game, too. But not with his signature red and black outfit, cheeky quips, and dual katanas. Instead, in a much more hideous form, known as Weapon XI.

#6 Marvel: Ultimate Alliance

2006 was a time when Deadpool was only known by Comic Book enthusiasts and fans who were knee-deep in the Marvel lore. But, one of the games that contributed to every layperson’s knowledge of Marvel characters was Marvel: Ultimate Alliance.

Unlike the previous entry in the last, in this game, the Regenerating Degenerate appears in all his glory. Also, the game boasted arguably the most dynamic Marvel heroes squad in a video game with over 140 characters. And Deadpool made a fine addition to the roster.

#5 Marvel VS Capcom 3

One can experience Deadpool’s charm in full glory in the fighting game.

Believed to be one of the best crossover fighting games of 2011. The game is hailed as one of the best fighting games of the early 2010s. The game featured a roster containing 36 characters. Marvel Vs. Capcom 3 was also the first fighting game to feature a genetically engineered mutant.

Considering Deadool’s skillset and how he is quite literally a mercenary, there weren’t a lot of Marvel Characters that would fit the bill for the game’s roster. Every time the chimichanga-loving antihero came on screen, watching him go was a delight.

#4 Spider-Man: Shattered Dimensions

Spider-Man: Shattered Dimensions was a strange game when it first came out. Many people liked it, and some didn’t, which was probably why the game fared well on Metacritic, the review aggregating website.

Deadpool appeared in the game as part of the symbiote suit Spider-Man storyline and even had his reality game show in the game. With the game featuring over 13 boss fights, the game also had one in which Spidey would go against the carefree mutant.

#3 LEGO Marvel Superheroes

The Merc with a mouth has his swagger on point, even in a LEGO game.

LEGO Marvel Superheroes was filled with the charm that makes LEGO games feel like one of the most casual but still authentic video games based on a universe.

In this appearance precisely, similar to Ryan Reynolds‘ version of the character on screen, the mercenary breaks the fourth wall multiple times. That, along with his bonus levels, made the game a must-play for fans of the character.

#2 Marvel’s Midnight Suns

Marvel’s Midnight Suns was the game that had the character’s most recent appearance in video games. The game featured an ensemble of playable characters. That naturally made focusing on one character’s personality more challenging.

Despite that, the game had one of the most impressive genuine characterizations of the character. Perhaps the only solid complaint people had about the game was that its genre didn’t align with Wade Wilson’s personality.

#1 Deadpool

Probably the most obvious entry in the series. If one considers themself a fan of the easy-going yet lethal antihero but is yet to play the 2013 Deadpool game, they most definitely should.

Also, since it is centered around the character, it features Wolverine, which makes for an exciting encounter between the two mutants. While the game was a bit underwhelming, given its 100 Million budget, it is fun if you wish to experience a title closest to Ryan Reynolds’ portrayal of the character.
