Valorant’s Console Open Beta Brings Fans Together in All Asking the Same Thing

Valorant has been smashing the PC gaming arena for four years now. But console players have always been exempt from this fun. With the intricate map setting, intense gameplay, and diverse agent roster, this game won everyone’s hearts.

Then came the Summer Game Fest 2024, when this Riot shooter was announced for consoles for a limited beta phase to begin on June 14. Now, after a tricky limited beta period, the game is going for an open beta launch. But players have only one query.

Valorant is Available On Consoles Through Open Beta But Everywhere?

Valorant is finally launched on consoles through an open beta phase. That means you don’t need to have any more codes to play the game, just like you did for the limited beta phase, which began on June 14. As per Xbox Wire, this was no simple port.

The company has stated that the team had meticulously retooled this modern classic team shooter for Xbox. It also stated:

Riot is sparing no effort in bringing the title to Xbox. Primarily, that comes through reproducing the finely tuned balance that’s made the PC title such a hit—the team went through many iterations of translating the original mouse-and-keyboard controls to gamepad input.

However, the main concern of the fans is going to be the availability of the game in different locations. As per previous leaks and rumors, it was speculated that the game was going to be launched on July 26, but it was thought for a global launch.

But in reality, that’s not the case. Just like the limited beta phase, this time too, the open beta will be available only in the following regions: USA, Canada, Europe, Japan, and Brazil.

This news is pretty disappointing for console fans, as everyone was eyeing a global launch, as many didn’t get a chance to get their hands on it in the limited beta phase.

However, the relieving fact is that Riot has announced that more info on region availability is coming soon. That means the company is nearing a global launch pretty soon.

How Will Valorant Be Different in Consoles From PCs?

Riot has always aimed to maintain a balance between two of the games’s versions to give the players the same essence. However, there will be some fundamental differences, for sure. For example, this game needs high-end precision and quick reflexes, which can be achieved only through the keyboard and mouse. We are not saying the console controllers don’t have the ability to pull those of, but they are not even close to a mouse when it comes to smoothness and sensitivity.

That’s why there won’t be any crossplay feature between PC and console players, as it was predicted earlier. However, Xbox and PlayStation players can play the game together. Riot has barred the crossplay primarily due to “a focus on maintaining the title’s competitive integrity, given the control changes required to bring the game to the console.”

Although there is cross-progression between PC and console. That means if you previously played the game on PC and want to try it out on consoles, you can carry over your inventory on either device.
