Enshrouded Reveals New Update Back to the Shroud Which Includes Everything Additional Customization and Cosmetic Options to Some Silky New Collectables
Enshrouded, the survival action role-playing title by Keen Games released earlier this year on PC via Steam in Early Access. The game has impressed players so far and the developer want to keep it that way before the game launches later this year.
The developer has already brought two updates since the game’s early access launch. It has now revealed the third update called Back to the Shroud and it is a massive one adding more gameplay customization, cosmetic options, collectibles, and more.
Enshrouded Back to the Shroud Update Is Now Out
The Back to the Shroud update in Enshrouded focuses on adding important features to improve the overall experience and also enhance the “existing features and quality of life changes,” as stated by the developer and also bring some fixes and quality of life updates.
The update is introducing adjustable difficulty settings for both single and multiplayer. The ‘Default’ difficulty is baseline and recommended for first-time players. The ‘Relaxed’ setting reduces enemies and gives players more resources and loot, recommended for players interested in base-building.
The ‘Hard’ setting increases enemies and makes them more aggressive for tough combat experience. The ‘Survival’ setting gives “punishment with additional survival mechanics like hunger and dropping backpack on death” with more aggressive enemies.
There is also a custom setting where players can modify up to 30 in-game settings with enemy damage, boss health, starvation mode, duration of buff, player abilities, day and night cycle length, Shroud time duration, and more.
The Update Also Adds Collectible Props, Character Customization, and QoL Updates
The update brings Collectible props which lets players add equipment like armor pieces and weapons that can now be displayed in their base by attaching them to craftable props. The complete armor sets can also be changed and armor stands have varied poses.
The collectibles such as fossils can now be found in the game world and players can display it on decorative shelves. The player character customization options include skin color, eye color, eyebrow color, and six additional new character presets.
The quality of life and balancing updates are a major part of the Back to the Shroud update. This includes reworked crafting menu that now features bigger preview images and simpler navigation. Some POIs are reworked or improved and some improvements are also made to blocking and parry.
The developer has said that there is still “work in progress” and more improvements are planned for the next Enshrouded updates. The graphical updates are also made as FSR 3 technology is added for visual improvement.
