Perth Royal Show 2024: Bertie Beetle showbag returns to WA after last year’s chocolate shortage
Perth’s most beloved showbag — the Bertie Beetle — will return to this year’s Royal Show, as families are invited to enjoy a plethora of free options at the annual festival.
Premier Roger Cook announced on Wednesday the showbag, which is marking its 60th anniversary, would return in 2024.
Production delays forced nationwide rationing and a hiatus from WA at last year’s show.
The showbag, often one of the cheapest available for families, will stay priced at $5.
“I know that many families were disappointed when the Bertie Beetle bag was suspended as a result of COVID and maybe a chocolate shortage or something like that,” Mr Cook said.
“But I can confirm that the Bertie Beetle bag is back with their 60th anniversary bag.
“I’m sure that’s a relief to everyone, and just adds to the excitement of another royal show for 2024.”
This year, children aged under 15 will enter for free — a first for the Royal Show — while adults and concession tickets will be halved to $22 and $12.50 respectively.
