Helldivers 2’s Lore Conflicts With Gaming Mechanic History and It’s Impossible to Figure Out Which is Correct

As always, the Helldivers 2 community remains constantly active on platforms like X or Reddit, discussing the game in general, making suggestions, and engaging in other activities.

In a recent discussion, a debate emerged about why the Devastators, the army of bots, have their faces uncovered.  It doesn’t make sense given how easy it is to detect their weakness, but one thing is certain: game mechanics need to make logical sense, so every enemy must have weak points to be defeated.

Many users commented that this design is truly stupid, yet it makes sense when considering the overall design of the game and the humorous touches included by the studio.

Helldivers 2 Devastators Have an Overly Obvious Weakness

One of the most striking aspects of this title is the design of its enemies, as well as some of their most obvious and strange weaknesses. The bots in Helldivers 2 are often quite tough to defeat, but many of them have very obvious weaknesses that are easy to spot.

Clearly, this design choice aims to make each enemy defeatable if shot in a specific spot, thus facilitating their elimination. There is one enemy in particular whose weakness is exceedingly obvious.

The Devastators have sparked a new discussion on Reddit, talking about how stupid their design is because their weakness is plainly visible. The exposed head of this particular bot makes it vulnerable to free shots, which expedites its elimination.

Why don’t devastators cover their heads ? are they stupid ?

Although it appears to be a weak design, it actually makes sense because it is a very strong enemy that always comes charging head-on. That’s why the studio decided to make it an obvious weakness.

The Studio’s Personality is Infused With the Enemy Designs

One of the most notable features of this particular title is its use of irony, the satirical presentation of war, and everything patriotism represents. This is a game-defining trait that permeates everything, including enemy designs.

This irony and humor also permeate the bots’ design and the absurd details they display. The studio knows very well how to make its own world captivating for the audience.

The Automatons, or Helldivers 2 bots, are the game’s most powerful enemies and the most difficult to complete missions against. This is why most players prefer to face the bugs rather than these bots.

One of the features of these androids is that they shoot much more than the bugs and are constantly launching projectiles at the players. The community generally agrees that the current designs are perfect.

If the Devastators’ faces were covered, they would be literally indestructible, so they need such an obvious weakness to be defeated.

Beyond the community discussion, the game will remain the same, and players will have to keep destroying these particular enemies the same way they always do: by bombing them or shooting them in the face. Soon, the game will add a new content update with possible new enemies.
