New Battlefield labeled as top-priority

Electronic Arts is labeling the next Battlefield as a top priority and among the “most ambitious projects” so far. It’s also going to foster the largest team ever working on a Battlefield game, whether that’s a good thing or not is to be determined.

Nestled within its fiscal year results (via Insider Gaming), CEO Andrew Wilson emphasized the team and its investment into resources needed to deliver the best possible experience. Beyond those prepared notes, not much else was divulged. We still have no idea when the game will actually release just yet.

Back in May, Wilson asserted that this new Battlefield game would be a “tremendous live service,” bringing together at least four of EA’s studios onto one project, with Motive Studios joining DICE, Criterion Games, and Ripple Effect Studios back in April.

Not long ago, we also learned that much of the older Battlefield games are going offline, including Battlefield 3, 4, and Hardline. Meanwhile, Battlefield: 2042 is still operating with decently strong numbers, breaking over 10K players on Steam frequently throughout this month.
