This Guy Went Viral For Exposing What He Says Are “Lies Men Tell Women And What They Mean,” And Big Conversations Are Being Had
Domenic Iandolo is a 27-year-old who has recently been gaining a lot of attention on TikTok for his videos exposing lies men tell and what they actually mean. His most viral video has nearly 4 million views, and here’s what he has to say:
“If a guy ever says there is something happening with his buddy and he needs to go take care of him or he needs to go help him out, this is a for sure lie…”
“First of all, guys never have these types of emotional conversations, so write that off completely. The truth is, he is probably going to go hang out with that friend. But, the hard pill to swallow is that he would rather go hang out with his friend than hang out with you.”
“I know it sounds awful, but that guy probably just wants to have a laid-back, relaxing night instead of being fully engaged and fully present going out on a date with you,” he concluded in the video.
Right away, women in the comments pointed out that it was a red flag if a guy feels he can’t be honest about spending time with friends — whether emotions are involved or not.
Other people pointed out that men who can’t or don’t have emotional conversations with their “buddies” need to reevaluate their friends.
And a lot of women disagreed with Domenic’s thought process altogether, saying their partners do have emotional conversations with their friends.
On the other hand, there were also women who came forward saying they are currently dating men who tell this type of lie.
Lots of women started sharing the types of situations some men have left them in.
Most made the decision to cut those men off…
And now they’ve lost trust in men because of it.
BuzzFeed reached out to Domenic who said he made the video after realizing most guys have no clue how to properly date the woman they’re talking to. “In my experience, men tend to put off their emotions in most situations. When it comes to talking about emotions, feelings, or anything of that matter, men aren’t typically having these discussions with their friends often,” he said.
Domenic continued explaining his viral TikTok, “Most guys can’t stand confrontation, so instead, we tell these white lies hoping to save ourselves. It is a red flag if you’re afraid of the tough conversations in your relationship, but in the context of the video, there is no discussion of emotions to even be had! The man is canceling his date because he doesn’t want to see you, and he would rather just hang out with his buddies and relax.”
“If a man is avoiding communication and feels the need to lie instead, that is the ultimate issue. In my opinion, the easiest way to know if a man is lying is by taking a look at his body language first. If he seems flustered during the conversation, he’s avoiding eye contact, and he’s stumbling in his sentences; this is usually a telling sign that he’s dancing around the truth,” he added.
