The Veilguard’s Release Date Potentially Revealed and It’s Super Close

The anticipation for Dragon Age: The Veilguard has been building among fans for quite some time, especially given the game has been in the making for a decade now.

Recently, insider Jeff Grubb shared some exciting news on his Game Mess Mornings podcast, hinting that the game could be released as soon as the end of October. This potential release date has sparked a lot of discussions and excitement within the gaming community.

What Can Fans Expect from Dragon Age: The Veilguard

According to Grubb, the information he received a few weeks ago suggested an October release, although this could have changed since then. Nevertheless, the possibility of an imminent release has fans eagerly awaiting official confirmation.

In the worst case, the game will be released sometime in November or December, with a guaranteed 2024 release promised by EA at the time of writing. The latest installment is said to focus heavily on the lore of the Veil, the mystical barrier that separates the physical world from the Fade, a realm of spirits and demons.

Solas will play a massive role in the game, returning from Inquisition along with a few other characters like Varric and Scout Harding. One of the key features of The Veilguard is its enhanced character customization options.

Players will have more control over their protagonist’s appearance, abilities, and backstory, allowing for a more personalized gaming experience. These should also be reflected in dialogue options, and other choices in the game.

The game will feature a new and improved combat system, blending real-time action with tactical strategy. Although, fan reception to the new combat system has not been all that positive so far.

The Game Will Hopefully Be a Return to Form for Bioware

Dragon Age: The Veilguard promises to be a worthy addition to the beloved franchise. Set in the rich and complex world of Thedas, the game is expected to continue the tradition of deep RPG storytelling and intricate characters that fans have come to love. Fans are also hoping that the game is a return to form for Bioware, who have struggled this past console generation with flops like Mass Effect: Andromeda and Anthem.

Another exciting aspect of the game is its expansive open-world environment. Players will have the opportunity to explore diverse landscapes, from forests and crowded cities filled with NPCs and things to interact with, to desolate wastelands and ancient ruins. Previous teaser trailers showed a hint of the various stunning locations that gamers can explore, with stunning art direction and details.

The developers have also revealed in recent interviews that the game will have more of a morally complex story, where player’s choices will have big consequences. This branching narrative will challenge players to consider the impact of their decisions, and the RPG mechanics are supposed to be a serious focus this time around.

On top of all this, the graphics and visual design of the game have been a major focus for the development team. The gameplay demo shown at the Xbox Games Showcase was graphically stunning, even though many aren’t a fan of the more cartoony and animated art direction of this sequel.
