The First Descendant Update Breaks the Ultimate of Multiple Characters, And Drastic Actions are the Only Fix

The recent 1.0.5 update for The First Descendant has brought a wave of issues, particularly affecting the ultimate abilities of several characters. The update has not only caused ultimate ability issues but also introduced numerous new bugs and glitches.

Players are expressing their frustrations over the multitude of glitches that have emerged. These bugs are affecting the overall gaming experience, leading to a significant backlash from the community on social media platforms.

The Latest The First Descendant Update Has Some Bugs

One player on Reddit highlighted a significant problem with Sharen’s ultimate ability. According to the player, after activating Sharen’s ultimate, all her abilities become unusable. The screen greys out, and she is unable to aim or shoot.

The only way to fix this is by getting frozen, knocked back, killed, or resetting her location. This problem isn’t limited to Sharen. Other players have reported similar issues with Yujin. They believe that if the ultimate is activated and fire is pressed too soon, the game animation might get stuck, causing these bugs in The First Descendant.

Nexon needs to take drastic actions to address these issues. The 1.0.5 update was meant to improve the game, but it seems to have had the opposite effect. The developers must prioritize fixing the ultimate ability bugs that are making the game unplayable for some characters, and just leading to a worse user experience for gamers.

If the issue is related to the game animation getting stuck, they need to work on optimizing the animations to ensure they run smoothly and don’t interfere with gameplay.

The Latest Patch Adds Some Much-Needed Changes as Well

The First Descendant update also made changes to prevent module swapping from becoming a strategy in Intercept Battles and Infiltration Operations. The developers have acknowledged the issues and are planning to introduce a “guaranteed drop” system to address complaints about the drop rate. This is a step in the right direction, and hopefully more will follow.

As per the patch notes and comments form the game director, Nexon has also considered making changes to the Fusion Reactor, where many players farm materials without spending Fragments. The devs are thinking about removing the fragments from the fusion reactor startup, making them needed only when the reconstructing device will be used.

This change might simplify the farming process, but it needs to be implemented carefully to avoid further disrupting the gameplay balance since things are already quite messy as it is.

The First Descendant has seen massive success with over 10 million players in just ten days, thanks in big part to it being free to play. However, this success is overshadowed by the aggressive monetization strategy that has been widely criticized, and the recent update issues

Set in a futuristic world, players take on the role of Descendants, each with unique abilities and skills. The game combines fast-paced shooting mechanics with light RPG elements, allowing players to customize their characters with different weapons, gear, and abilities to suit their playstyle. Most of these are heavily monetized, though.
