XDefiant Players Have Had Enough of Jump Spammers Breaking the Netcode and Removing All Enjoyment

Featuring elements of several popular Ubisoft titles such as Far Cry and Watch Dogs, XDefiant is a brand-new free-to-play arena shooter that pits teams of six against each other in a variety of game modes.

Although the shooter has attracted millions of players since its release, it has faced a lot of criticism from the community for its bugs and glitches. Now, the game’s movement mechanics are under fire as well, which is causing players to uninstall the title and move to other shooters.

XDefiant Players Want Jump Spamming Removed From The Game

One of the biggest complaints gamers have with XDefiant is what is known as the annoying exploit of jump spamming. During the intense matches in the free-to-play shooter, it’s pretty common to come across players who will use techniques such as bunny hopping to avoid being shot and deal massive damage to you.

Sure, you can call it an effective technique, but the problem is that it doesn’t have any drawbacks, and you can spam it endlessly. Although Ubisoft tried solving the issue with last month’s XDefiant patch, it clearly hasn’t worked out, with players on Reddit showing various clips that highlight the seriousness of the exploit.

I think I might throw in the towel until next season, this is absolutely crazy.

What’s worse is that these sketchy jumping tactics are messing up with the XDefiant netcode. It even breaks the aim assist for certain players and makes it quite difficult for gamers who are using a mouse and keyboard to manually try to eliminate exploiters without any kind of assistance.

Ubisoft’s developers have made it through various updates to establish XDefiant as a skillful game despite lacking skill-based matching. So, it’s not surprising to see gamers wanting such mechanics to be axed or nerfed to the point where they don’t feel broken.

Let’s hope with the upcoming XDefiant season, Ubisoft can finally implement a proper solution to punish gamers who exploit such tactics.

When is the Next XDefiant Season Coming Out?

There’s no doubt that XDefiant’s Season 1 brought plenty of phenomenal additions to the game, including various assault rifles, features, and game modes. However, players can’t help but wonder what’s coming next for the so-called Call of Duty killer.

Ubisoft’s free-to-play shooter will see the launch of Season 2 on Wednesday, September 24, 2024. This is going by the in-game timer of the current season, which is drawing towards the update. However, it’s crucial to keep in mind that Ubisoft still hasn’t confirmed an official date.

Although the developers haven’t officially revealed what’s coming next, they’ve given us a roadmap that’s packed with content. With every major update in the first 13 months of the game, we’ll receive a brand new Faction, weapons, and maps.

Does Ubisoft need to nerf jump spamming in XDefiant? If so, let us know in the comments.
