Helldivers 2 Turns into Dance Dance Revolution with Latest Player’s Comedic Footwork

Forget your traditional game controller or mouse and keyboard to enjoy Helldivers 2. If you’re up for the challenge, try having the Dance Dance Revolution input for the game, like one determined player has managed to show off their skills. Not only do they ace these moves (literally), but they also manage to strategize mid-game as if nothing is different.

This isn’t the first time the community has seen someone use a unique input for a game. In fact, people have used musical instruments and all kinds of machinery in place of traditional controllers to play a game usually not meant for that kind of input. And this time, it’s Helldivers 2’s turn.

There are many ways to play the game, including dancing in real life.

It doesn’t matter how good you are when it comes to Helldivers 2. As long as you’re a veteran on your favorite controller or mouse/keyboard, it doesn’t really count until you can truly show off your skills on the dance floor. Yes, a dance floor connected to your system while you’re tasked with obtaining resources on a planet that’s trying to kill you.

Recently, user wuushie took up the challenge of showing off their skills on the Dance Dance Revolution gamepad, but in a way that made one of the coolest third-person shooters even more impressive. In a short clip, they managed to work through an entire inventory of tools on the battlefield while successfully battling enemies.

Usually, the havoc-worthy shenanigans in Helldivers 2 are often limited to its in-game mechanics. However, the game has endless potential and is meant to be enjoyed however you like it, making it one of the best online games you can play right now.

Players keep finding new ways of enjoying the game.

It won’t be surprising to see if someone soon figures out a way to play the game with a Guitar Hero controller, or attach a MIDI keyboard and play some piano keys while fighting Brood Commanders on a distant planet.

That being said, controller input matters little when you’re in the midst of a match in Helldivers 2. The combat and co-op try to blend every player’s unique approach to the game’s world. The experience heavily relies on good teamwork, since friendly fire can be a tricky thing.

Furthermore, adding a unique gamepad (or, mat) twist to the equation can either break your head/feet or give you a new learning curve to master. If that’s an area you ever choose to explore better.

In the meantime, what do you think about using a Dance Dance Revolution mat to play Helldivers 2? Is it worth the trouble, or something you would enjoy? Let us know in the comments below.
