Helldivers 2 Would Benefit From Giving Us 1 Mode We Don’t Think Even Johan Pilestedt Would Use

Helldivers 2 is an online multiplayer game about a galaxy torn by war. The gaming community fell in love with the ambitious nature of the live service project and the concept of intergalactic warfare; however, it is far from perfect and could benefit from the creative ideas and suggestions of hardcore fans.

Players willingly enlisted to fight for the freedom of Super-Earth and its citizens in the Second Galactic War and have seen their fair share of bloodshed and chaos. In their mission to fight for freedom, they have collected plenty of rare resources that could be repurposed.

The Helldivers 2 Community Would Not Mind the Addition of God Mode as a New Feature

Sony Interactive Entertainment provided the support Arrowhead Game Studios needed to revamp the Helldivers franchise and gave it a modernized touch. The gaming community is growing concerned about Helldivers 2 and the amount of free content that new players will have to grind to unlock soon.

Newer players were not around when older battle passes or Warbonds were released, and it could become a chore and too overwhelming for them to unlock them when the game is at a state where new content is abundant. The game developers should reconsider balancing rewards and in-game resources as one player suggested doing the unthinkable.

Shams Jorjani, the successor of director Johan Pilestedt as the new CEO of Arrowhead Game Studios, asked the gaming community for its suggestions to benefit the game.

Jorjani realized that most players have already reached the maximum capacity of certain rare resources and have no other use for them, however, one player’s suggestion could go directly against what Pilestedt stood for.

Others suggested bringing back a feature from the original game where players can upgrade their gear with the resources they have collected.

This is a much more viable option than adding a god mode where players have unlimited health and stamina with infinite ammunition for every weapon available and makes the player invincible against any threat that can take away the fun.

Adding a God Mode in Helldivers 2 Could Take Away the Immersion

The players have been drafted to fight in a war against hostile alien forces that could do insane amounts of damage, it would make sense for some players to give the enemy a taste of their own medicine. Unfortunately, that’s not how it works and soldiers make do with what is provided and fight as hard as they can.

God mode could give the community an edge to wipe out anything standing in the way. Regardless, it is only a suggestion for the developers to consider, and this feature would offer a great alternative for players who have grown tired of the traditional way the game is meant to be played and those with trigger fingers.

The developers should offer avenues for players to spend their hard-earned resources and make room for more to improve the war effort.

Fighting a war on a much more level playing field would not be such a bad idea, however, it contradicts the developer’s intended vision. Players like to feel challenged and adding a god mode will feel like having a crutch.
