Where Were You When the Illuminate Attacked in Helldivers 2?

The current success of the PlayStation Studios game is massive. Helldivers 2 is making almost 400,000 concurrent players on Steam every day. This is the first game to simultaneously launch on PS5 and PC for an exclusive Sony IP. The community is in love with the game and has a very healthy relationship with the development team and the CEO of Arrowhead Game Studios. 

Players have discovered some signs about a new possible enemy that will be coming to the game; many videos were posted on X.

The Helldivers 2 community is always active with memes and clips about the way they spread democracy in the missions. Arrowhead Game Studios, the team behind the game, has been dropping new weapons and leaving the players to test some new mechas.

This is not all; the studio has also spawned some new and very interesting beams of light. The internet calls these very weird lights The Illuminate, and there are various theories about what they could be. Fans are excited and scared at the same time. 

A new viral video on X has shown these new beings of light. They are not particularly active, but the community has several theories about this new possible enemy. Some players are saying that The Illuminate are behind all the Automaton attacks, so this could mean that new terrible battles are incoming.

Helldivers 2 is a live service game, so all the progress that the community makes on the different planets is global. Arrowhead Game Studios could be preparing some hot new content in the next few weeks. 

Players replied things like, “We are going to need bigger guns.” So a new and terrifying enemy could be coming. Democracy will face a new threat soon. But fans are excited to face this new possibility. One of the best things about Helldivers 2 is its almost inhumane difficulty. The game was built to be played with friends. The Helldivers social media accounts are not very direct when it comes to new content; they like to make the players talk about this. 

This title has not even had a complete month of being available and has already sold more than a million copies in the first four days. The community is eager to see new things, especially weapons, so they can keep bringing democracy to the galaxy.

The Terminids and the Automaton are ferocious enemies, but the fight for democracy is more powerful than anything. At the moment of writing this piece, Helldivers 2 has more than 400,000 players active on Steam.
