Black Ops 6 is Unlikely to Feature the Return of 1 Feature Treyarch Championed Thanks to the Toxicity of a Select Few

Fans are wondering if the Emblem Creator could make a return in Black Ops 6. First appearing in Treyarch’s own Black Ops back in 2010, it was a tool that let players create unique images using a variety of editing tools.

Players loved it because they could show off their creativity and make their player card stand out. The feature was so popular that it came back in Black Ops 2, Advanced Warfare, Black Ops 3, and Infinite Warfare.

Why Emblem Creator Might Not Return

In Black Ops 2, the Emblem Creator was bigger and better. It had more tools and layers, giving players even more freedom to create amazing designs. Fans spent hours crafting unique emblems, making the game feel more personal to them.

Although, a lot of fans misused it to create racist, offensive, or inappropriate images, which apparently was a big reason that led to its discontinuation, Activision never stated a reason for it. This caused a lot of issues and made the game environment toxic. Activision also had a hard time moderating all this user-generated content.

A user on the /BlackOps6 subreddit mentioned that they had been out of the loop for a while and wondered if the Emblem Editor would be in Black Ops 6.

Other users agreed, saying that emblem customization is probably gone for good. They suggested that an automatic review system using AI could help, but it wouldn’t be perfect and still need human oversight and guidance.

Another comment pointed out that the removal of emblems didn’t seem to be about offensive content since it happened several years after such content first appeared. They said that emblems were removed to sell emblems in the in-game shop. This made sense because Activision could make money from selling pre-made emblems instead of letting players create their own.

Many feel that the game’s developers don’t prioritize user-generated content anymore. For example, they don’t even let players customize their operators, only offering pre-made ones. This shift away from user-created content might be why the Emblem Editor is unlikely to return in Black Ops 6, or any future Call of Duty game.

A Lot of Black Ops 6 Has Recently Leaked Online

The game is all over social media right now due to leaked gameplay footage. The game’s build, which is still in development, was shared online. A lot of clips showing how the game works, such as its shooting and movement mechanics, have surfaced. Some of these clips got removed because of copyright issues.

Activision hasn’t said anything about these leaks yet. They’ve been busy taking down the original posts on social media because of copyright violations.

At the end of August, Activision plans to host an event called Call of Duty NEXT. This event will show off the future of the series and give the first official gameplay demo of the multiplayer mode for the game.

Since this is the first Call of Duty game to be developed over a full four years as compared to the usual three years, expectations are particularly high for it.
