Helldivers 2 Update Brings a Development That Points to a Potential Return of an Enemy (Not the Illuminate)

Attention Helldivers 2 players! A new dispatch has arrived from high command, and you’re going to want to sit down for this one.

There’s some new information given about some possible upcoming threats, and there’s a chance that the one enemy no one’s prepared to take down right now (from the first Helldivers) might be making a return. Are you ready for the challenge of a lifetime?

The Situation in Helldivers 2 Just Got Much Worse

The announcement, made in the official Helldivers Discord community, called upon the players and congratulated them for earning the right to access the AT-Mines.

In this latest update, high command acknowledges the many challenges that players have faced recently, including failing several missions and sacrificing the mines for sick children.

Resultantly, after various strategic decisions and sacrifices, the much-needed MD-17 Anti-Tank Mine is now available to everyone.

The most important part comes after this, though. It goes on to report dire news from the Falstaff sector, where a sudden wave of Terminids with new variants has overrun SEAF outer recon posts on the planet Socorro III.

These reports are downplayed as “likely exaggerations,” but the Terminid incursion is real and presents a significant threat.

This cloud could be a harbinger of something a lot more sinister brewing within the faction of the Helldivers 2 bugs, the Terminids. Could this be the dreaded Hive Lord making a return?

The Hive Lord is the one thing you don’t want to meet right now, especially with the recent waves of nerfs that have hit the game.

If you ask any veterans from the first Helldivers game, they’ll tell you that you’re going to get cooked by this thing, no doubt about it. This leviathan-sized creature is a walking disaster, and facing it with a team of four is a demanding task.

With the current state of the game and the recent balance changes, players are understandably anxious about the potential return of this foe. Some are already starting to see the hints, and it’s not looking too good.

How are teams of four going to take this thing down? If this prediction is right, you won’t have to wait too long to see it in a Helldivers 2 update.

The reappearance of this gargantuan enemy would test the mettle of even the most seasoned players. As terrifying as it sounds, it’s also an exciting affair. The Illuminate are nothing in front of this beast.

Would you like to see this terrifying enemy in-game? What other enemies are you hoping to see make a return from the first Helldivers? Let us know in the comments below!
