Never Mind Elden Ring 2, Did Hidetaka Miyazaki Tease Dark Souls 4?

With the upcoming release of Elden Ring DLC, Shadow of the Erdtree, fans are already talking about what could come next for the creators of Dark Souls. The Japanese developer From Software has made one spectacular game after another.

Sekiro: Shadows Die Twice and Elden Ring won Game of the Year. The director of these titles, Hidetaka Miyazaki, has been talking about the future of the studio in a new interview, and good things could be coming after the launch of this anticipated DLC. Dark Souls 4 could be a possibility.

From Software is currently one of the most important studios in the industry. The Dark Souls saga has changed things forever in the new wave of videogames. With more than 20 million copies sold, Elden Ring has become the GTA of From Software.

This Japanese studio has a bright future ahead, and all the fans are asking the same question. What will be the next game developed by From Software? Miyazaki may have answered this question in a recent interview with IGN. He talked about not discarding any possibility.

In this interview with IGN, Hidetaka Miyazaki answers many questions about the Shadow of the Erdtree DLC and what new things you will encounter in this new map. What new bosses and what new kinds of weapons and spells will appear. But he also talked about the future of From Software.

In the last 10 years, this studio has made more than 8 games with a time difference of less than 2 years. In 2022, Elden Ring was launched, and last year, Armored Core 6: Fires of Rubicon was released. He spoke about what could come next and what franchise would be chosen.

The Elden Ring saga has not ended for now, according to Miyazaki. He said the following: “I think we said a similar thing at the end of Dark Souls 3.” So this could mean that a new game could be possible, and maybe Miyazaki plans to return to the franchise that made him a household name.

The only saga which From Software has no control is Bloodborne, which is owned by Sony. The studio has not discarded anything. There are no plans for a new Elden Ring DLC.

Shadow of the Erdtree will be released on June 21 on PS4, PS5, Xbox One, Xbox Series S/X, and PC. The expansion will cost $39.99 and will require the base Elden Ring game to be played. Bandai Namco and From Software have also launched a new Collector’s Edition.
