McLean coroner identifies I-55 car crash victim
BLOOMINGTON, Ill. (WMBD) — McLean County Coroner Dr. Kathleen Yoder has released the name and cause of death of the man killed on I-55 on Tuesday.
According to a McLean County Coroner news release, 27-year-old Jacob Shaw of Kenosha, Wisconsin likely died from multiple blunt injuries from his car striking a parked utility truck parked on the shoulder.
It isn’t known why Shaw left the roadway near mile marker 158 before striking the truck. But a fire broke out after the crash. It was extinguished in only a few minutes.
The truck driver was taken to local hospital for injuries. It isn’t known how serious they are.

Toxicology is pending.
The crash is still being investigated by McLean County Coroner’s Office and Illinois State Police.
