Raw Fury’s TV and Film Adaptations Still Moving Forward
When gamers first heard of Raw Fury titles being eyed for an entry into Hollywood, the news was met with cautious optimism. While it would be great to see your favorite characters and stories play out on the big screen, these movies don’t have the best track record when it comes to staying faithful to the original work.
But, despite these fears, gamers are still looking forward to the next big game-to-move adaptation to hit the silver screen. So, when the founder of Raw Fury began an impromptu AMA on X, he was promptly asked about the lack of news regarding any of the studio’s properties making it to film.
Raw Fury Founder Opens Up About Hurdles to Making Movies
When taking a project from a gaming system to a film set, there are several hurdles that both the director and developers must overcome to ensure a smooth transition. A lot of these are in the initial stages and can often be the make-or-break phase of such a project.
The team may be fired up about the movie, but logistics don’t always fall into place. This appears to be the case with Raw Fury’s time in the spotlight, as the founder has stated Hollywood moves very slowly.
Founded Raw Fury. Indie publishing isn’t fucked. AMA (for 90 minutes or so…)

Jónas Björgvin Antonsson, founder of Raw Fury, decided to host an AMA on his X channel, with the subject being that indie games still very much alive and thriving. The studio has put out some great indie gems such as Tales Noir, Sable, Call of the Sea, and the upcoming horror game that is sure to put you at the edge of your seat, Post Trauma.
Many may think that indie games can be amazing but lack the flair required to make them big on the big screen. That couldn’t be further from the truth, as titles such as Sable and Dandara offer such a rich art style that they can capture anyone’s attention. It’s no wonder that people are excited to see how these games get adapted.
They are. But Hollywood moves at a snails pace.

On being asked if the push to bring some games to Hollywood was still ongoing, Jónas stated the projects are moving forward, but Hollywood functions very slowly. The studio founder is playing his cards close to his chest with this response, but it does imply we’re in for a wait.
Despite Predictions, Indie Games are Here to Stay
While the indie gaming scene has witnessed tremendous growth, there have also been many challenges along the way. One of the most common ones is working in the shadow of AAA studios and working around their releases. Even signing onto major subscription services to bring more attention to the title doesn’t seem to work out financially.
However, the indie game sector continues to grow and release some great titles that rival AAA games in many ways. Indeed, many gamers have a soft spot for indie developers, as they feel like they care more about their release than it being just a product.
When Raw Fury’s titles are adapted by Hollywood, it would be a big motivator for other developers to create games that could make it into the movies. And, at the end of it all, the common gamer wins too!
