Bodycam Footage Of Travis Scott’s Miami Arrest Released

Newly released bodycam footage shows what happened in the moments leading up to Travis Scott’s arrest earlier this year in Miami. Obtained and published by TMZ, the clips feature the Houston rapper pleading with law enforcement, explaining his anxiousness due to being outnumbered.

In a confrontation with the owner and captain of a yacht he claimed to have rented, the Grammy-nominated artist was first able to walk away. The musician details that men were “disrespectful” in their attempt to get him to exit the yacht. It was when he returned to allegedly retrieve a backpack he accidentally left when the interaction between Scott and Miami police officers resulted in an arrest.

“You’re really gonna lock me up after I was trying to get my bag?” the 33-year-old questioned. “This is a waste of y’all’s time right now.”

He continued to explain, “Y’all scared me, ’cause y’all scared me y’all told me to leave now or you’re gonna put me in cuffs,” adding, “There’s 50 cops around me bro.”

Travis Scott, legal name Jacques Bermon Webster II, was initially taken into custody in June for the incident, with a bond set at $650 — on $150 for his public intoxication charges and then $500 for trespassing. According to the tabloid, the alcohol-related charges have been dropped. However, he still faces trespassing charges.

After being arrested, the rapper sent a message on social media, typing a vague and simple response, which read, “Lol.”

The US rapper, singer, songwriter, and record producer was arrested after a verbal altercation with people on a yacht at the Miami Beach Marina, according to the arrest report.

“Mr. Scott was briefly detained due to a misunderstanding,” explained his legal representative, Bradford Cohen in a statement to VIBE at the time.

“There was absolutely no physical altercation involved, and we thank the authorities for working with us towards a swift and amicable resolution.”

On Friday (Aug. 9) Travis Scott was arrested in France following a physical altercation with a security guard at the Paris Four Seasons Hotel George V.
