A-League Women: Perth Glory re-sign locals Izzy Foletta, Grace Johnston, Bella Wallhead and Mischa Anderson
A quartet of WA products have re-signed for Perth Glory’s A-League Women’s side, with homegrown defenders Izzy Foletta, Grace Johnston, Bella Wallhead and Mischa Anderson confirmed to return to their hometown club.
24-year-old Foletta returns for her fifth season with the club after working her way back into the starting 11 late last season to take her tally of appearances to 36.
Wallhead missed all of last season with a torn ACL, but the 21 year-old centre-back has signed on for next season.
19 year-old Johnston was a bright spark at left-back to start last season and made 14 appearances in her first year, before suffering a season-ending ankle against Central Coast in February.
Anderson is yet to make her first-team debut, but has enjoyed a solid season with Perth RedStar in the NPLW WA.
Glory coach Stephen Peters believes each member of the defensive quartet can play an important role in the upcoming campaign.
“It’s fantastic to have these quality local products forming such a key part of our squad,” he said.

“Izzy is a versatile and hard-working player who brings plenty of experience having played extensively both here in Australia and in Europe, while Grace enjoyed a lot of game time last year and we’ll be looking for her to build on that foundation and push on again in her second senior season.
“Bella and Mischa are also talented defenders who are hungry to establish themselves at ALW level and it’s been pleasing to see Mischa perform so well for Perth RedStar over the last few months.
“Providing a platform for the best WA players to represent their home-state club is a key part of our philosophy.”
