Is Arena Breakout Infinite Coming to Steam? – Answered

By now, there’s a ton of hype surrounding Arena Breakout: Infinite. In fact, within the extraction shooter realm, it’s one of the most anticipated titles for several reasons. First and foremost, it’s free-to-play. But they weren’t afraid to go toe-to-toe with Escape From Tarkov, which won over many players. Those players want to enjoy the game. So, is Arena Breakout: Infinite coming to Steam?

Is Arena Breakout: Infinite Early Access on Steam?

By now, you likely know that Arena Breakout: Infinite does have a Steam store page available, where you can follow the game’s community news, add it to your wishlist, and interact with other interested players in the discussion boards. However, the release date remains “Coming Soon,” despite developer Morefun announcing a launch day for the game’s Early Access.

Unfortunately, there’s a catch. The studio decided internally to launch the game exclusively on its website via its own third-party launcher for the Early Access test phase. In time, it will release on Steam, too. It’s just a matter of when.

Speaking in their official Discord, Morefun said:

The Early Access is only available for free download on the official global website. It is not available for download on STEAM at this time. From our Beta test learnings, we felt the best way to streamline and structure early access development was through our own official website. We feel this is the best and most collaborative development approach as we use this early access period to quickly deliver the most polished 1.0 version of Arena Breakout: Infinite on PC. We will try our best to open Steam download once it’s ready.

When Can You Play Arena Breakout: Infinite?

According to the studio, Early Access for Arena Breakout: Infinite begins on August 13. But again, only on their official website, not on Steam. We expect to hear more about the Steam release at a later date, but for now, if you want to play the game, you must download it elsewhere.

Unfortunately, we don’t know if progress transfers between the launchers. I certainly hope so, as I intend to jump in on day one. But I do love having all of my content on Steam.

How do you feel about Arena Breakout: Infinite opting for teamplay over solo play? It’s going to scare away a lot of players, that’s for sure!
