How to Get Mythic Medallions in Teamfight Tactics
Teamfight Tactics introduced a pity system for its cosmetic back in the Inkborne Fables set. There was a lot of controversy revolving around the Mythic Medallions, which is the currency involved in buying the cosmetics or Chibis you want from the shop. Players were pressured to get more Mythic Medallions before the season ended, so they didn’t go to waste.
However, Riot Games didn’t go for the route and made Mythic Medallions carry over to the next seasons. It is only fitting that the system works this way because getting these Mythic Medallions costs a pretty penny. Nevertheless, here’s how to get these Mythic Medallions in TFT, so you can start saving up for those cute Chibis in the future.
Where to Get Mythic Medallions in TFT
There are two ways to get Mythic Medallions, and both of them involve opening the Treasure Realm chests. To open a Treasure Realm chest, you need 50 Treasure Tokens. You get Treasure Tokens from the Battle Pass for free, and you get much more if you buy the premium Battle Pass. You can also directly buy Treasure Tokens at a rate of 195 RP for 50 Treasure Tokens, which is roughly $2 per pull.
By opening Treasure Realm chests, you’ll hit certain milestones that give Realm Crystals and Mythic Medallions. Hitting the 20, 40, and 60 Treasure Realm chest opened milestone will give you a Mythic Medallion. Reaching 60 will give you two Mythic Medallions, which brings the total of four Mythic Medallions for every 60 Treasure Realm chest opened.
Aside from hitting milestones, opening Treasure Realm chests can also give you random Mythic Medallions. There’s a 2.5% chance of getting a Mythic Medallion for each Treasure Realm chest, and you can also get 5 Mythic Medallions at a 0.3% chance in one Treasure Realm chest. The rates are still low, but it all adds up.

Where to Spend Mythic Medallions and Do They Remain After A Season?
Mythic Medallions are spent in the rotating shop. You can buy every exclusive Chibi from the current Treasure Realms event, which goes for 10 Mythic Medallions. Each Treasure Realm chest, regardless of which banner you pull on, has a chance of a “Prestige” cosmetic that also rotates every season. It has an absurdly low 0.01% drop chance for each Treasure Realm chest, but you can also buy it for 25 Mythic Medallions.
At this point, you have already spent hundreds of dollars, but that’s how TFT’s pity system got reworked since the Inkborne Fables set.
The Magic n’ Mayhem set brings a ton of new cosmetic rewards and gameplay changes to the game. Even the Augment system got a fresh new look with all the new Prismatic Augments. You can always play the game for free and earn those free Treasure Realm tokens in the Battle Pass. You can continue saving since these Mythic Medallions don’t expire between seasons, so you’ll definitely get enough Mythic Medallions to buy a Chibi one day.
