Xbox is launching a $700 SpongeBob special edition Series X console bundle

Microsoft is launching a special edition SpongeBob SquarePants Xbox Series X console bundle.

Priced at $699, the Xbox Series X – Nickelodeon All-Star Brawl 2 Special Edition Bundle includes a custom-designed console and wireless controller, plus a digital download of Nickelodeon All-Star Brawl 2.

A limited supply will be available to purchase at 8am PST on March 7, Microsoft said. The bundle will only be available in the US and through Best Buy Drops on the retailer’s mobile app.

Microsoft recently delivered an Xbox business update which confirmed reports that it’s planning to bring more first-party games to PlayStation and/or Switch, in the form of Pentiment, Hi-Fi Rush, Sea of Thieves and Grounded.

The platform holder also confirmed that the Xbox Series X/S consoles won’t be the company’s last.

“There’s some exciting stuff coming out in hardware that we’re going to share this holiday”, Xbox president Sarah Bond said, “and we’re also invested in the next generation roadmap.

“And what we’re really focused on there is delivering the largest technical leap you will have ever seen in a hardware generation”.
