The Epic Games Store Is Now Available to Access on Mobile Devices

A few years back Epic Games’ popular title Fortnite was removed from App Store and Google Play Store as it tried to bypass the companies’ payment system for the purchase of the game’s currency, V-Bucks. Epic Games fought a long legal battle against the technology giants and is now seeing results.

The company had announced its plans to bring its digital store on mobile devices via the App Store and Google Play. In a sudden and surprising reveal, the company has now officially launched the Epic Games Store for Android and iOS devices, and with it brings the popular Epic titles.

Epic Games announced this via a press release and said that the Epic Games Store is available to download on Android devices all over the world while it is only available for iPhone users in European Union. It also acknowledged the Digital Markets Act for being able to launch the store in EU.

However, it said that “Apple is still blocking all other iOS users outside of Europe from accessing Fortnite and Epic Games Store for iOS.” The company also provided step by step instructions for users to download the store for both the devices.

The users requiring any help downloading it can refer to them. Epic also said that the process to install the storefront on both iOS and Android devices is lengthy “due to Apple and Google introducing intentionally poor-quality install experiences.”

This is due to lots of unnecessary steps, complex device settings, and scare screens. Epic said that it continues to fight in courts and work with regulators to “eliminate the anticompetitive terms that Apple and Google impose on developers and consumers, so we can build a better store for everyone.”

The Epic Games Store has launched with Fortnite, Rocket League Sideswipe and the brand-new Fall Guys for mobile devices. Fortnite makes a comeback to mobile after four years. Previously, players had to directly download the app from web to play Fortnite or access it via cloud gaming services.

Epic has said that it is working on enabling developers to bring their apps and games through its storefront. The developer’s first-party games, Fortnite, Fall Guys and Rocket League Sideswipe, will also be available on iOS devices through independent third-party mobile stores in EU.

The games are now available on AltStore PAL, an independent digital storefront. Epic is also planning to launch the games on Aptoide’s iOS store in the EU and ONE Store on Android and many other third-party stores around the world.
