Fire causes estimated $400K in damage to 2 Buffalo homes, 2 vehicles

BUFFALO, N.Y. (WIVB) — A fire early Saturday morning in Buffalo caused an estimated total of $400,000 in damage to two residences and two vehicles, fire officials announced.

Officials said Buffalo fire responded to the three-alarm fire just before 5:45 a.m. to 325 Connecticut Street, where the vacant structure was “fully involved.” The damage to the structure is estimated at $100,000, according to fire investigators.

Exposure damage occurred at 329 Connecticut Street, officials said, and two occupants were brought to safety by firefighters. They are being assisted by the Red Cross. Officials said an estimated $280,000 in damage was done to the structure.

Additionally, two vehicles parked on the street suffered radiant heat damage from the fire, causing an estimated $20,000 in damage, according to officials.

One firefighter was transported by ambulance to ECMC to be treated for non-life threatening injuries. Buffalo Fire Commissioner William Renaldo said approximately 70 firefighters helped fight the fire.

The cause of the fire remains under investigation.
