Between Little Nightmares 3 and Reanimal, Fans of This Cutesy Horror Niche Are Eating Well At Gamescom 2024

Gamescom 2024 is in full swing, and fans of the horror genre with a sort of cute twist are in for a treat. Tarsier Studios, the creative minds behind the Little Nightmares franchise, has just dropped not one but two exciting trailers.

If you’re a fan of eerie adventures starring small, vulnerable characters navigating horrifying worlds, then the studio is serving up exactly what you’re craving.

Little Nightmare Fans Have Double the Fun to Look Forward To

This year’s Gamescom has been amazing for horror fans, and Tarsier Studios just added to the ever-growing list of terror-filled titles to look forward to.

It unveiled a brand-new trailer for Little Nightmares 3, continuing the saga that many players have loyally followed through since the first game’s release.

This time, you’ll be tracing the journey of Low and Alone, two friends trapped in the Spiral, an amalgamation of terrifying places that seem to defy reality and lean into delusions.

The trailer introduces horrors that seem more dangerous than before, and like its predecessors, it seems like a title that’ll keep you on your toes.

What was more surprising than this trailer drop, however, was when Tarsier Studios announced an entirely new game titled Reanimal. Whichever friend you plan on dragging into the horrors of the previous game, you’ll want to keep them around for this next one.

While it follows the visual trend of its other popular franchise, this game seems to take the niche horror genre in a new direction. According to the synopsis:

A brother & sister go through hell to rescue their friends in this terrifying horror adventure.

You’ll get your chance at escaping this twisted island either solo or in local or online co-op.

Tarsier Studios Is on an Unstoppable Roll

The reaction to these reveals has been overwhelmingly positive. Fans are excited to see Tarsier Studios continuing to expand the world of Little Nightmares while also experimenting with new ideas through the new game.

Tarsier already has a solid record of dropping great games within its niche, with the first two Little Nightmares games scoring an 8.0 and above in Metacritic ratings from users.

Its upcoming releases look like they’ll continue that trend.

This looks ace though. Tarsier are fantastic at pulse-pounding horror. I’ve said it before, but they’d be a great shout for a new Silent Hill.
