Free DLC Will Come To Astro Bot By the End of 2024
Astro Bot fans have a lot to look forward to as 2024 comes to a close. Team Asobi, the developers behind the upcoming platformer, has officially announced that the game will receive a free DLC by the end of the year.
Set to launch on September 6, 2024, the game promises to deliver a similar experience to the original with over 80 levels and a plethora of features. The free DLC will feature new speed run stages like the ones from Astro’s Playroom. Fans enjoyed the previous ones and look forward to it again.
Astro Bot Is Getting Ready to Be a Massive Hit
The announcement of the Astro Bot DLC came from Nicolas Doucet, the creative director at Team Asobi, during an interview with Famitsu magazine. (as reported by Genki_JPN) He revealed that the added content would feature not only speed run stages but also “playful stages“.

The speed run stages are expected to offer a competitive edge, with leaderboards tracking players’ performances. This feature was a fan favorite for content creators and speed run enthusiasts who thrive on competition.
Astro’s Playroom, which was pre-installed on every PS5 console, introduced players to the joy of speed runs through its Network Speed Run mode. The next entry is already poised to deliver and has good reviews from early previews already.

This news also opens up the conversation about the game’s potential future on platforms beyond the PS5. While Doucet did not confirm any plans for a PC release, he expressed interest in hearing from PC players who might want to see the game on their platform.

The game uses the controller’s haptic feedback to create a tactile experience just like how the previous title did.
As the year progresses, players can expect more details about the DLC, including whether it will be released in a single update or in multiple stages.
Regardless of the release format, the addition of new content so soon after the game’s launch is a promising sign of continued support from Team Asobi.
For now, all eyes are on the September release date. Will you be playing the game? Let us know in the comments!
