What Jack Black Did for Minecraft Movie Will Make Gamers Respect Kung Fu Panda 4 Star Even More

Jack Black is without a doubt a Hollywood Gem that we need but do not deserve. The actor, known for starring in a variety of different movies, including the soon-coming Kung Fu Panda 4, is the go-to choice for casting when it comes to playing a character that might need dedication to pull off.

And such is the case with his role as the main character Steve in the upcoming Minecraft film, scheduled for 2025. While everybody might appreciate someone like Christian Bale for the challenges he faces while preparing for a role, Jack Black revealed via IGN his own unique way of preparing for the aforementioned role.

Many would expect an actor would go through the hardships of deeply understanding a story’s concept and plot to settle into the character. However, Jack Black revealed how he resorted to just playing the game for hours on end to understand what he had gotten himself into.

Revealing about his experience playing Minecraft, he mentioned:

“I have literally been exclusive to Minecraft for the last month and a half. All Minecraft all the time. I’m in a little movie called Minecraft. I don’t want to brag, but it’s kind of a big deal. So I studied hard and I learned and I was getting really into it building houses and tunneling around. Now I’m getting back into it–it’s pretty rad.”

The actor essentially disclosed how he took the most obvious route one could have taken when it comes to understanding the theme and plot of a video game, which is to play it by themselves and invest many hours into it.

Including actors such as Kevin Hart, there are a very limited number of people present in the industry who can play a comedic element perfectly. Jack Black happens to be one of them, and fans could not ask for more.

Furthermore, the variation he offers with his acting allows producers to bring to life fan-favorite characters from the fictional world. This has allowed him to land roles such as Bowser in the recent Super Mario Bros. movie, Po in Kung Fu Panda 4, or even the main character Steve in the upcoming Minecraft movie.

Fans are now hoping that Jack Black will not get snubbed once again for his brilliance in playing fan-favorite roles. This is a reference to the recent Oscars event, where the renowned actor got snubbed for the Best Original Song award, after getting nominated for his song titled Peaches in the Super Mario Bros. movie.
