Dr Disrespect Is Now Facing the Wrath of the Deadlock Community Next as Players Keep Leaving Any Game He Queues Into

Dr Disrespect’s return to streaming has gone in a way he probably didn’t expect. On September 11, 2024, the controversial streamer hopped into Deadlock, Valve’s new MOBA shooter, only to find himself abandoned by his teammates almost immediately.

The streamer has seemingly ignored any and all of the controversy around him and has just continued streaming as usual. But the online community, as usual, has been swift and brutal as social media is quick to not only remind him but also laugh in his face regarding these events.

Dr Disrespect streamed Valve’s latest hit game on September 11, 2024. At first, he completed the game’s tutorial and set up to learn the game’s mechanics. He then joined a live match with real players. However, things took a strange turn when one teammate left after dying early in the game.

As is standard with Valve games, the match was soon determined to be ‘Safe to leave’ which resulted in all his other teammates leaving him. The streamer, in his typical deadpan style, reacted with, “Okay, I guess I’m the only one in this one.” He played solo for a few minutes before abandoning the game himself.

The sudden exodus of players didn’t go unnoticed by the people watching. The community’s reaction to the incident was swift and brutal. Social media platforms like X (formerly Twitter) exploded with memes and comments about the situation. One user sarcastically remarked, “Maybe the bots will play with him.

The streamer has been the center of controversy ever since his admission of messaging a minor. This was the end of a chain of events that started after his permanent Twitch ban in 2020. His admission and the allegations against him have led to widespread condemnation, with other prominent online figures openly expressing their unwillingness to associate with him.

Despite the negative attention though, his stream drew over 15,000 concurrent viewers. There is always a part of the audience that doesn’t care about anything that happens outside of the entertainment that they’re being provided. And this is the perfect example.

It Has Nothing to do With Deadlock, The Game Is Great

Deadlock has been massively popular among games and streamers. Notably, popular streamer Shroud called it the best third-person shooter he has ever played.

Yet, Dr Disrespect’s experience with the game could not have been more different. After his teammates’ abrupt departure, his remaining matches didn’t have any such disconnections. But the reaction of the online community already cemented the vibe.

As more gaming communities express discomfort with his presence, it raises questions about how sustainable his career can be moving forward, especially when players actively avoid participating in games with him.

What is clear is that the controversy that the streamer has found himself in isn’t going away any time soon. His larger-than-life persona, combined with everything that’s still hidden in the shadows, leaves him in a precarious position.
