Helldivers 2’s New Thermite Grenade Buffs Overpower Even the Most Annoying Enemy in One Shot

In the world of co-op multiplayer shooters, Helldivers 2 is a prominent name. This game has garnered a huge fanbase since its launch because of its interesting gameplay, stunning visuals, and intricate co-op settings to follow the Major Orders with your friends.

This Arrowhead Game Studios title also faced some huge backlash due to some technical issues, mainly because of the PSN account linking to the Steam account controversy. However, the developers are trying their best to regain the momentum, and Patch 1.001.100’s Thermite Grenade might be the beginning of it.

The New Thermite Grenade Can Knock Down a Bile Titan With Ease in Helldivers 2

Helldivers 2 has recently introduced Patch 1.001.100. Now this update is exciting as it comes with many overhaul changes and some brand new features along with several bug fixes.

However, there is one unique change in the gameplay that has shocked the whole fanbase, and that is a much-needed buff to the Thermite Grenades. And now, with just two Thermite Grenades, players can take down a whole Bile Titan without any problem.

Players know how big a problem a Bile Titan is. It’s a massive, heavily armored Terminid, which is the final growth stage of a Bile Warrior. It’s mainly found in Challenging difficulty and begins to spawn naturally in Extreme difficulty.

Despite its huge size, it’s super rapid. And another dangerous part about these creatures is their throes, which are lethal when they are dead.

Now, the Thermite Grenade’s ability to defeat this huge giant certainly speaks volumes for itself. Before this patch, this grenade was literally of no use as it used to deal almost no damage, and the time it took to explode was enough for the Terminid hoard to crush the player. However, after the patch, not only is its detonation time reduced, but the damage has been increased from 100 to 2000.

1.001.100 might be the biggest patch of the game since its launch. From armor overhauls to strategy balancing, along with enemy rework, fixing annoying bugs, changing damage mechanisms, and much more, this update has it all.

Let’s look at the overview of the official patch notes for this update:

  • Major Overhaul of Anti-Tank, Armor Penetration, Health and Armor Values
  • Weapon & Stratagem Balancing
  • Enemy Reworks
  • Helldiver Health and Damage Mechanics Tweaks
  • Gas Gameplay Mechanic Rework
  • New Galactic War feature
  • Emote Wheel feature
  • Crash & Bug Fixes

Talking about general updates, partial damage has been increased from 50% to 65%. Not only that, from now on, Helldivers will be taking less damage from headshots. Previously, headshots inflicted 100% extra damage, but after this update, it’s 50%.

Now coming to weapons, there have been some huge changes to the whole armory. Magazines, stagger force, damage, horizontal and vertical spread, cooldown, explosion radius, and more have gone through overhaul changes. The weapons that went through these changes include Liberator and Liberator Carbine, Knight, Breaker, Tenderizer, Scythe, and many more.
