If you’re a fan of physical video game memorabilia and a long-time fan of the Like a Dragon franchise, you’ll probably want to score the collector’s edition for Pirate Yakuza. Regarding collector’s editions, I’m on the fence about this one. There are many cool knickknacks, but they don’t feel overwhelmingly meaningful.

I’m honestly a little disappointed the game’s collector’s edition doesn’t include a statue or art book. The acrylic standee feels like a cheap substitute that most will forget about quickly after opening the box.

Just when you thought the Like a Dragon franchise couldn’t take a more odd turn, they announce Pirate Yakuza in Hawaii. Goro Majima, an ex-Yakuza, wakes up on a remote island somewhere in the Pacific Ocean, unable to remember anything from his past, including his name, and must embark on a pirate-laden adventure to uncover the mysteries of his journey here.

The most significant improvement here appears to be the combat, which looks more visceral and fluid. You can even jump while performing attacks! Oh, and you can customize your ship and assemble a crew to terrorize the open oceans!
