The official premiere Overwatch 2 tournament, the Overwatch Champions Series (OWCS) is about to have its Championship event. Since this new series has replaced the original Overwatch League, many are curious as to what to expect in the Championship. With the original league being replaced, the OWCS 2024 event opens up an exciting new realm of possibilities for Overwatch 2 fans and gamers. With some of the best teams in the world competing against each other, many are excited to see where this tournament series goes in the future.
Let’s break down the entirety of the event’s Championship.
Tournament Prize Pool
At the moment, we are not exactly sure what the tournament prize pool is going to be. The entire event, however, is made up of various different Majors that are leading up to the Championship. With all the Majors included, we do know that there is a $1,153,000 prize pool.
How much of that will be for the Championship is unknown.

Tournament Dates
Luckily, we do know the dates for the OWCS 2024 tournament. Right now, the event is set to take place during DreamHack Sweden from November 22 to November 24, 2024.
The tournament will be held in Stockholm, Sweden, and will be surrounded by various other esports events taking place at DreamHack.

Tournament Format
Right now, we know very little about the tournament format and structure. However, we do know that the Championship will be made up of an Upper and Lower Bracket, which will meet in the end at the Grand Finals.
