Nintendo v. Pocketpair could last five years

In a not-so-shocking turn of events, Nintendo filed a lawsuit against Palworld developer, Pocketpair, over multiple instances of patent infringement. Now, while some think this is a cut-and-dry case, former Blizzard consultant, Florian Mueller, thinks otherwise.

On Twitter, Mueller expresses that this suit is likely to bleed to the five-year mark rather than be a quick single-year suit. He also noted that the studio, which has committed to fighting the suit, will struggle financially and that it won’t be like Epic v. Apple and Google.

Of course, it’s no secret that Nintendo isn’t a force to reckon with in the gaming industry, much less on its home turf of Japan. Its legal team has a very strong track record and we wouldn’t be surprised if it comes out on top.
