Whether you want infinite ammo or want to overhaul the game’s environment completely, there is a mod for just about everything. However, many are unaware of how the mods work in the game since there isn’t official support. Hence, we’ve put together a guide explaining how to install Helldivers 2 mods.

Installing Mods in Helldivers 2

Downloading Helldivers 2 mods is pretty straightforward, though it can seem tricky as there isn’t one download manager for the mods. Hence, you’ll need to download each mod and manually install it accordingly.

Head to Nexus Mods and search for Helldivers 2. A new search result should pop up with various kinds of mods to pick from. Select your preferred mode and click the “Manual” option in the right corner. This should download a .zip file of the mod.

Go to the location where the zip is downloaded and then extract all the files inside it to your preferred destination. Once done, open Steam and open the Helldivers 2 page on it. Click on the gear icon on the right side, followed by clicking on the “Manage” option.

Select the “Browse Local Files” option from there, which will lead you to Helldivers 2 files. Open “Data” and copy-paste all the files extracted from the zip here. Click on the gear icon again from Steam and select the “Properties” option. Finally, click on “Verify integrity of game files,” and the mod should now be playable in the game.
