Valorant Fans Give 5 Reasons We All Secretly Hate One Map More Than Fracture

There are tons of reasons why Valorant continues to dominate the competitive gaming landscape. Alongside Riot Games’ continuous efforts to bring new agents and features to the game, the brilliant maps of the shooter are definitely among the reasons why gamers can’t get enough of the title.

All of these maps are well-designed and distinctive in their own right. Of course, everyone has their favorites, but the entire community agrees upon the fact that Fracture is one of the worst maps. However, Riot Games has recently added another map to the shooter that snatches Fracture’s title of the worst Valorant map.

Abyss is the Worst Map in Valorant and Can’t be Saved Without Changes

With Episode 09 and Patch 8.11 on June 11, 2024, Riot Games introduced a brand-new map for players to experience called the Abyss. It stood out among other maps in the game because its design was quite similar to that of Counter-Strike’s Vertigo map.

The unique factor was that there were no protective walls around the edges, so players had to be extra careful as they could fall off from the edges and die.

The concept of this map was refreshing, and gamers were hyped to jump into it. Unfortunately, since its release, the overall reception around the map has been quite hostile. Over on Reddit, gamers still can’t comprehend why the vast majority of players still dodge this map.

Why do people hate abyss?

Well, it’s pretty clear why Abyss is a huge failure. Unlike most of the Valorant maps, it’s huge, which automatically makes rotations take longer. It makes it ten times more difficult for teams to react quickly to spike pushes, slowing down the pace of the game and ruining strategies.

The map’s entire selling point, lack of protective walls, is a major downside as well. In high-pressure situations, this aspect leaves players overly exposed and makes it challenging to avoid enemy fire, reducing tactical depth.

The B site after plants is mostly one-dimensional, and the mid is a nightmare for defenders since it’s limited to two lanes. What’s even worse is the map’s A main, which is arguably one of the worst chokepoints in the game and is impossible to break through.

Let’s keep our fingers crossed and hope that, with the upcoming updates and patches, Riot Games will take notice of Abyss’ flaws and address them. A map like this has incredible potential, but it would be truly disappointing to see all that getting wasted.

Leaks Confirm Highly-Requested Feature is Coming to Valorant

While it’s going to be a long while before Riot Games heads for an Abyss rework, it seems like the studio is currently planning to bring one of the most highly requested features to the game. According to ValorantMobileX, a new Battle Replay feature is coming in the mobile version of the game.

Chinese players have been invited to take part in an Alpha playtest as Riot is preparing to launch the legendary hero shooter on mobile devices. The replay feature will allow anyone to review complete replays of their matches.

Although there are no plans to roll this out to console and PC players, the replay mode will be handy for those looking to study their opponents.

Alongside the much-anticipated Battle Replay Mode is a brand-new Mobile Advanced Training Mode that will allow players to get grips with various mechanics integral to the shooter.

While Riot still hasn’t announced the feature for console and PC players, the studio likes to keep gamers on the same playing field in Valorant regardless of the platform. So, we can expect to see it on these platforms soon.

With that said, do you think Abyss is the worst map in Valorant? If so, let us know in the comments below.
