It’s God of War 3 That Needs an Overhaul and One Scene Proves it

Sony has a terrible reputation for bringing unexpected, hit-or-miss remasters. A great example of this would be The Last of Us, which was remastered on the PS4 just a year after its initial release on the P35. The game set a troubling precedent, with Sony constantly pumping out remasters for the franchise when no one wanted them in the first place.

While these remasters are pushed by Sony as something special for gamers, if the company truly cares about its fanbase, it must give a remaster to God of War 3, which would undoubtedly blow away everyone with modern-day technology.

Sony Must Stop The Last of Us Remasters and Give us God of War 3 Remastered

Debuting all the way back in 2010, God of War 3 is the ultimate finale of the legendary trilogy that smashed it on every front. The franchise’s incredible combat has never been as exhilarating as it was in this game. The set pieces are also mind-blowing, and the myths are engaging and well-realized.

The game is wild right from start to finish. It was a satisfying conclusion for Kratos’ journey, causing him to rethink why he even fights. It made his final victory all the more complete. The seasoned developers perfectly executed their vision with finesse, polish, and passion, which can be clearly seen in the various in-game scenes.

It’s been 13 years since the launch of this game, and the animations still hold up and, in some aspects, even beat the so-called advanced modern games! Experiencing it on modern-day consoles would be phenomenal, but Sony would rather give us pointless Last of Us remasters.

A God of War 3 remake holds arguably the greatest potential in PlayStation’s vast library. Enhancing the original game’s visuals and combat mechanics and even bringing new story elements could reignite interest in the original trilogy.

A remake can take advantage of PlayStation 5 Pro’s capabilities and prove to be a worthy exclusive, considering it already lacks games.

Another PlayStation Exclusive Remaster Might be in Development

Rumors of Guerilla Games working on a Horizon Zero Dawn remaster have been swirling for several years now, with speculation heating up after Sony axed Horizon Zero Dawn from PlayStation Plus a few months ago. While games often rotate in and out of the subscription service, it’s quite unusual for first-party games to leave it.

Despite the rumors of a remaster, developers have not officially confirmed anything. However, a new rating has popped up on the ESRB website that suggests a reveal might be around the corner. According to the rating, Horizon Zero Dawn Remastered will make its way to PlayStation 5 and PC, but it’s not clear what improvements the remaster will bring.

Reports of a Horizon Zero Dawn remaster first showed up back in 2022. At the time, it was unclear if it would be remastered or completely remade, but the report did suggest that the title would feature a better lighting system, animations, overhauled textures, and new character models to be on par with the PS5 sequel.

While it’s likely that the remaster might be released on PS5 and PC at the same time, let’s not forget how it took Sony two years to release the game on PC. The PC port was crafted by Nixxes Software, which also brought other PlayStation titles such as Marvel’s Spider-Man Remastered, Ghost of Tsushima, and much more to PC.

Given the popularity of the game, a remaster to bring the title to modern PlayStation consoles seemed inevitable.

With that said, would you like to see any other game being remastered for PlayStation? If so, let us know in the comments below.
