Omni Man’s Animality is a Monster Who Nearly Killed Him in Invincible Season 1 and It’s Absolutely Terrifying

Omni-Man’s animality was recently revealed and he transforms into the giant kaiju, Hail Mary, from the Invincible series. This terrifying form draws directly from a pivotal fight in Season 1, where Hail Mary nearly kills Omni-Man, making the animality a terrifying homage to one of the most intense battles from the animated series.

Omni Man Looks Spectacular in Mortal Kombat 1

Animalities first appeared in Mortal Kombat 3 and allowed fighters to transform into spirit animals to perform finishing moves. The feature has since been absent from the franchise for nearly 20 years. In Mortal Kombat 1’s Khaos Reigns expansion Animalities return in full force.

Omni-Man’s Animality holds a deeper connection to his storyline in Invincible. In the series, the gigantic kaiju Hail Mary was designed as a last-ditch weapon against him. Though Omni-Man ultimately defeated it, the creature nearly overpowered him in a brutal battle that showcased his vulnerability for the first time.

In the game, Hail Mary’s monstrous size and power translate well into Omni-Man’s Animality. After crushing the opponent under one of its massive appendages, the kaiju picks them up, viciously tearing them apart in a spectacle of gore and destruction that’s sure to leave players stunned.

This representation of Hail Mary as Omni-Man’s spirit animal feels both terrifying and fitting, given the creature’s role in pushing him to his limits in Invincible. This backstory adds an extra layer of depth to the Animality, reminding fans of the immense challenge Omni-Man faced and barely overcame.

The Expansion Brings More Than Just Animalities

The Khaos Reigns expansion does more than just bring back Animalities. It also introduces new story elements and additional characters. Cyrax, Sektor, and Noob Saibot join the roster, while the Scream franchise’s Ghostface, the T-1000 from Terminator 2, and Conan the Barbarian are set to arrive later.

Fans of Mortal Kombat will find much to love in the story expansion, which introduces new chapters focused on the chaos unfolding in Liu Kang’s new era, making the Khaos Reigns pack a must-have if you want to see the continuation of the story.

What sets the Khaos Reigns expansion apart from previous updates is its attention to detail and fan service. Ed Boon, co-creator of Mortal Kombat, revealed in an interview with Screen Rant that the team went all-out with this update.

In earlier games, the limited technology of the 90s meant Animalities were simplified, with lower resolution and fewer animations. Now, with modern technology, NetherRealm has been able to deliver cinematic-quality Animalities that are bigger, bolder, and bloodier than ever before.

This dedication to quality is reflected not only in the Animalities but in every aspect of the expansion, from the new character designs to the extended story mode. And it is available to experience now.
